When using speedfan it shows 5 temperatures.
__________________(I'm a newb by the way.) temp1:30C temp 2:25C temp 3:45C local: 32C remote: 41C temp: 37C HD0: 32C temp1: 40C and then at the very bottom where the time is it says 30C. It says ACPI temp 40C. Which one do I need to be aware of? Does system temp matter? Or only CPU temp? How high or low should each one be? Thanks for you help.

There are two easy ways 1) your CPU temp will be the one that jumps up quickly when you put the computer under heavy load and 2) download another program such as Everest and compare the two sets of temps. That will usually tell you which ones are important. You can set any of the temperatures to appear in the tray (since temp1, for example, isn't always CPU).
