The question is : Will the heatsink fins both up and down where the fan gaskets are mounted reach 70 to 80 degrees. You got to think that the entire heatsink is dissipating that much power, so I kind of doubt the heatsink fins will never reach that temperature only the base or the heat-pipes will come close to that temperature.

I don't have washers in between the heatsink and the fan, I just have the gasket. This is because the MegaShadow uses metal clips/

I'm testing a new OC on my i7 right now. CPU temp is in the mid-80s C, heatsink can't be warmer than 45-50C, and this is a near perfect mounting between two lapped surfaces with good thermal compound.
Oh, I thought silicon and silicone were referred to the same material.

Anyway, yeah I thought so it would never reach 70C especially with a San Ace
