Default Are these temps normal?

I replaced my OCZ Vendetta 2 (with stock fan) and MX-2 TIM with the new MegaShadow (with San Ace 9G-H1011) and Shin Etsu X23-7783D TIM.

I used EasyTune6 to overclock my Q6600 (stock 2.4GHz) to 3.2GHz.

I stressed test with OCCT for 20 mins, and I got these temps:

Ambient: 30C (I'm from the Philippines, it is very hot here)
CPU1: 58 Max
CPU2: 58 Max
CPU3: 52 Max
CPU4: 52 Max

Are these temps on the good side? I'm expecting them to be lower since I'm using one of the best, if not the best, heatsinks out there and a very good TIM.

BTW, I applied a 6mm blob TIM in the center of the CPU.

That looks like pretty good temps to me. Your ambient is high but I've seen people reporting Q6600's in the 60s and 70s, so I think you're still on good ground. I believe this varies by your stepping, I just read that the Q6600 G0 has a max temp of 71C.

If you have any doubts about your TIM application, remove your Megashadow and take a look at the imprint the TIM left. It should be fairly obvious if you applied too much (TIM overflowing over the edges of the CPU), or too little (TIM doesn't spread fully to the edges).

proper tim instructions can be found in my sig. those temps are perfectly acceptable, and Philippines have nothing to do about being hot as it easily reaches ~49c here in phoenix.

I would however recommend avoiding any programs to overclock the cpu and go about it in the bios. i see you have an excellent board for it so by all means acquaint yourself with the bios.

Thanks.

I thought it's not necessary for the TIM to reach the edges since the cores are located in the center?

Really? 49C? Damn that's hot I thought 30C is already too hot in the world.

Yeah, I agree with you regarding the programs. I'm still on the learning process of changing the settings in the BIOS to OC but I believe EasyTune6 is a program that directly modifies the BIOS so it's similar to fiddling with the BIOS but as all of us know automatic changes to the BIOS are most of the time not preferred over manual settings of experienced people

Anyway, how much temp drop should I be expecting from my transition from the old HSF combo to the new HSF combo I have now? I was expecting somewhere between 8-10C drops.

While it's true that the cores are located near the center, I think it's probably important to try to cover as much of the surface as possible. After all, they call that top layer the heatspreader for a reason.

By the way, what did you mean by the G0 having a 71C max temp? Do you mean I shouldn't pass above that temp when OC'ing?
