Anything with that much weight and pressure will cause a bow in a board. The only way you will tell is remove the board and heatsink and look at it. But it does happen and i'm not knocking the megahalems.
It is a great cooler but it does have things to worry about. That is why i noted if the weight is a problem use zip ties or what ever they decide to use. It wouldn't be that bad if you had it standing upright instead of the hanging off the side. But nothing is without side effects. I rather give him my experience and thoughts and let him decide for himself. That is why i didn't comment about the corsair i haven't used it so i really cannot leave a comment on it. As a side note i really think that this causes problems in threads. Folks that doesn't own a product and says something about it. Or google's some quick info and then post it to get a thread count. This is where it hurts the o.p. as he is then being flooded with googled info versus people that actually own a product and is trying to leave their opinions/thoughts about it. Sorry for the rant it has just been a long-long night. So i apologize if i upset anyone. |

The H50 was designed for little to medium amounts of airflow in the case. Its great for small enclosures. If you have a high airflow case The Prolima is gonna beat it every time. Although the Mega weighs more on the motherboard however, how much does the radiator filled with liquid weigh, if your hauling this case back and forth for LAN parties etc.

honestly i don't see the problem at all even with the way i mount my sink
i'd think me mounting it in an BTX form would cause even more stress oh and i do own the sink with 2 sflex on it This is it in a Cosmos http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...i/IMG_0290.jpg mounted in my Black Pearl http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...i/IMG_0315.jpg True 120 Black mounted in my Cosmos with white LED medium Yates + SFlex http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...i/P1020856.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...i/P1020618.jpg I've been playing around with these tower sinks, and im in my case every other month with an upgrade or something, haven't seen any MB have an issue with these sinks with 2 fans Now if you're saying the TRUE Copper, then yes i agree with you as the sink itself is 1700g or so. But for that little weight, not so much. A dual slot high end Video card weighs almost as much as these tower sinks and i don't think the Video card weights are warping anything (from my experience with the 4850X2, GTX295, 9800GX2, GTX280/260s).

Yes, and you know why? Because air cooling is much easier to maintain and upgrade. I'd rather have a Shin Etsu + Mega Shadow + San Ace combination for ~$110 than a $60 liquid loop that performs worse. But that's just me; if you're going to go liquid cooling, custom setup or bust.

I found the H50 more useful in cases that do not have much airflow from their cases. The MegaShadow performs very well with cases that have plenty of airflow. I love my Megahalems with 2 25mm Scythe S-Flex G fans, but the noise is annoying. Much better than my Zalman CNPS 9700LED heatsink.

Also the H50 isn't even really water cooling IMO. Its a closed loop. No maintenance on it; nothing. Set it and forget it. Have you even used the H50? Do you have any experience with it? If not then why are you talking out of your ass? When someone is willing to spend $110 on aircooling then I think they can dish out another $40 without going broke. That's just me though.
