I just bought a ZALMAN CNPS 8700 NT 110mm HSF and my system is hotter than with the stock HSF. I had 46/55 temps and now with the Zalman I have 48/60 temps. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It is either mounted improperly or there's too much TIM.

After installing the new HSF it was running ok, but it started getting hotter, so I reseated and reapplied the Thermal Compound. I just had it running at 60 after watching a movie.

If it wasn't a Zalman I would suggest troubleshooting it more to try and figure out what exactly is wrong but in this case I would suggest returning and getting one of the heatsinks mentioned in my guide.

Are you using the Zalman Thermal Paste?
Also, what are your ambient temps? ZALMAN coolers were pretty good like a couple of years ago. Still for a dual core, it should be able to cool it.

Please refrain from using Zalman products at all costs. You can get a Xiggy for less money with better results.
Switch back to your stock cooler, and return the Zalman and get a different cooler.

The CNPS10X isn't that bad, but what he has isn't exactly great for his CPU.
