Hey guys, new member here (though I've lurked without signing up for quite some time
__________________ ).I have found another thread asking the same question, but didn't really want to bring that one up as my question was kind of multi-folded and I wanted to provide as much info on my plans as possible... So what is the ultimate case for air cooling with the info provided below? My current setup rig is setup inside the NZXT Zero 2 ( way more aesthetically pleasing than the original imho ). 10 case fans total, 7 x 120mm's and 3 x 80mm. The case runs fairly cool, but I'm going to be taking my i7 920 past the 3.5ghz mark and want to optimize airflow and have the best possible air-cooled setup available. After extensive reading I've decided on the Magahalems/Mega Shadow for the CPU cooling. The Ultra X3 1600w PSU (redundant power ftw). Now I need a case that will pull in and push out as much air as possible. Ideally I'd like as many 120mm fans as possible (I don't care about sound levels in the room, its my gaming sanctuary and not the family room). For the fans I'm thinking as many of these as I can fit in the case, yes they suck up a lot of juice and yes they're loud... again, don't care, just want a very cold system. I'm probably going to run HDD coolers and RAM cooler as well. The PSU is rather redundant for this very reason, there will be a ton of devices needing power. I've decided on the NZXT Sentry LX for the fan controllers...yes, I'll probably need 2 of them. So maybe a LX and a Sentry 2 ![]() I have no set price limit, but around the $500 is the most I'd like to fork out for a case. Things like cable management and clear sides are of no consequence. Would be nice if it was pretty on the outside though

HAF932 with 4x 120mms on the side panel will be ridiculous airflow. You can also swap the top exhaust fan for a few as well.
Rear exhaust is 140mm so you'd need to find a high CFM solution for that, something like this perhaps.

The NZXT Zero 2 already has 4 x 120's on the side and 2 x 120's in the rear. Just wondering if there's anything with even more airflow... perhaps 3 x 120's up top?
__________________If you look at the link I posted for the fan I had in mind, it pushes out 250cfm vs the 104ish of the Kaze. I fully expect the sound of a jet taking off in my room lol Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated!

You might consider water cooling. Might cost a little more, but the results will be better with a lot less energy and noise. Or you could just load your case up with Delta's. 10 fans...surprised the thing doesn't try to suck you in when you walk past it.

Check out my case (in my system) Its huge but the airflow is god like. I have 8x120mm fans at the moment and i can rig up atleast another 2-3 with very little effort. I have it set to make a solid wind tunnel so i do not wish to add more. My only complaint is it is vented on both sides. Normaly id say thats a good thing but it does mess the jet stream up a little. regardless its god like for keep the video cards cool. I have 1x 120mm blowing onto them fromt he side pannel (room for 2 more) and 3x 120mm in case directed right at the vid cards (1 at the rear and 2x under the video cards at the base of the case) it dropped both my vid card temps by atleast 12c per card compared to the cooling in my Antec 900 that almost killed my bottom video card.

HAF 932: 140mm In the back. 4x120 on the side. 3x120 on the top. 200mm on the front. And I added a HDD cage with an extra 120mm fan on it at the front of my case. Also a 120mm fan infront of the psu on the bottom. If your crafty, you can take the corsair dominator ram fan, and mount it where the vent is above the psu, and have some extra exhaust.
