If its the actual fan blades that rattle... buy a new fan.

If its the casing of the fan, tighten up the screws?

Super-glue/epoxy for worse case scenarios.

I had a rattle on one of my fans that I have gotten from a purchase here @ OCN (the fans were used, but hard to find), I was able to "fix" (minimize) it by openning the internals open and apply some oil thx to this guide from 0cn member ChIck3n --> http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...irty-fans.html

I think ExperimentX is on right, I did check the fan and it appears that there's some cuts on the fan which could explain the rattle.

But, I think adding some oil did help.

I usually keep a handful of cheapie 120's on hand just for this reason (hate rattling or poor performance).

Thanks for the rep

Sleeve bearing fans will always rattle after a certain amount of time. Either that or the sleeve broke. Which is common.

You have to do what raiden911 did.

Hey, hang on a mo... most fans, if not all, are bearingless aren't they?
Therefore isn't oil a bad thing? I would take the fan blades off, apply a nice amount of graphite (aka 5B pencil) and re-seat the blades.
Unless, of course, I am barking up the wrong telegraph-pole
