First off, ram coolers are a joke. I really hate to break it to you. Second, there is a 99% chance you will not be able to run 8gb of 1600mhz memory correctly due to IMC limitations on the CPU.

That being said, go for a T.R.U.E, Mugen 2, or Megahalems. Don't forget to pick up some ic7 or OCZ Freeze

Tell us your budget too. For an ultimate setup, I would get a megahalems with some ic7 thermal paste and a pair of san aces for push pull.
My budget is a little odd for this build. I'm dumping 200 dollars every week on new parts. I created a newegg wish list which you can view here. I'm changing parts on the list quite often and I may also get another 5870 too...maybe. I'm guessing now everybody's going to tell me that I should get a complete liquid cooling system.

Well for my setup, what would you suggest for ram. Do you think 4GB would be enough?

4GB is always enough for a standard enthusiast that is into gaming, music, photos...unless your doing something really heavy 4GB is plenty enough. May I also suggest 2x5850s for best bang for buck for DX11

I would suggest this memory. You should probably be able to hit 1600mhz with 2 banks, but even if you can't that memory runs great timings at 1333mhz. I had it at 6-6-5-20 with 1.68v running great.

4gb is really enough for most applications nowadays. If you find yourself running out of memory, you can always buy more down the road. DDR3 prices are just starting to fall so it will get cheaper with time anyway. The only reason I could see 8gb would be for like extreme video and image editing.

With all that cash going into a ssd, why don't you just go i7?

And if you have that big of a budget, then I would go with my earlier suggestion, unless you want to go water cooling.

Well I have already purchased the CPU, got it for a pretty good price. I suppose I could still go i7, would it really benefit me that much to go intel instead?

Here's a question. If I were to get an i7-920 and overclock it to around 4ghz with a good asus/evga board, would it be an improvement over an overclocked amd 955? and how much ram would be sufficient then for gaming? I'm looking at CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB (6 x 2GB) but I'm wondering if it's overkill.

12gb is overkill for just gaming
