Default Cooling idea? Fail? Impossible?

I keep thinking of some better way to cool the GPU's in a system as they tend to be the hottest components in your case especially in regards to having more than 1 GPU in your case.

Well, I was thinking of air flow and how shrouds work and I was wondering if there was some way to create some kind of tunnel for air from the bottom front fan to blast through and across your GPU(s) and out the back of the case without that hot air having to travel up through your CPU area and across your motherboard heating up your other components before it gets exhausted out the top or back.

Problem is you have the PCI covers there and there is no way (that I can think of) to place a fan in that area as exhaust. What about internal VGA/DVI extenders to somehow make the connections come out a secondary hole above the PCI slots and cut out the PCI slot area to create a hole for a 120mm fan for exhaust. Then you can further increase the air flow by creating a type of tunnel/shroud from front to back.

I know that several models of OEM GPU coolers that are totally enclosed and push the hot air out of the PCI slot but generally speaking those OEM coolers are crud and do not cool your GPUs very well.

Any ideas on best way to make this happen? Seen a similar idea? Is it impossible?

Lines are acrylic panels to cut off other areas.
1st option is to imagine the circle as a PCI slot cutout...
2nd idea is to imagine the circle as a side panel exhaust cutout...

EDIT NOTE: I WILL BE DEBATING YOUR IDEAS WITH YOU...I AM NOT SAYING YOUR WRONG JUST PLAYING DEVILS ADVOCATE.

Typically people just put fans on the side of the case and have them blow air on top of the graphics cards. The cards themselves should have fans (especially if they are new) and the really new ones tend to exhaust out the back so having some fans blowing fresh air in from the side towards the intake for the graphics card would accomplish the same thing. There is so little space between the side of the case and the card (in most situations) that the air doesn't have time to heat up above ambient, thusly being just as efficient.

Tunnels are good, but I like mobo positioning solutions better

I'ved tried various solutions before:

1, changing the air flow in your case to match where the gpu hot air comes out
2, allow more hot air out out of gpu bottom so can be removed by psu fan, or addition of a pcie cooler
3, mod your pc like the raven so there isn't a problem

Yes but again where does the air go once it gets sucked into the GPU? Into your case or the inefficient GPU cooling pushes it through the PCI slots. I am looking for an option to the more efficient GPU cooling cards such as most of the ASUS brands and after market GPU coolers.

i like the raven case but it has ONE major flaw, hot air rises, when cards are at the bottom they get cool air cause the hot air is towards the top

Well the air that comes off the GPU's would still have to pass by your CPU in order to be exhausted, and that case looks bad for air flow....could be wrong of course

Added this to OP but,
Basically like this but for the PCI slot areas and the GPU's would somehow be inside the tunnel:

Many GPU's are completely enclosed inside of a casing with just the intake of the fan sticking out. So all of the air used to cool the gpu is quickly exhausted out the back.
Like this for example.

Already mentioned this...these coolers tend to be very inefficient in their cooling and I am more referring to the non-reference and after market coolers.

Thanks though

This was another idea I had to mod my side panel so that the fan can be placed at the furthest back of the case (closest to PCI slot covers) as possible and seperate the GPU area and mobo/CPU area via acrylic to create a wind tunnel that way. Would be an easier solution then what I stated in the OP, but possibly not as efficient.

If I used the current side panel hole as exhaust I believe it might suck out the cold air from the front of the case before it even hit the GPu's intake fans....nice idea though +rep
