Default Fan help

I have an old CM fan, and I'm upgrading to a High CFM Slipstream fan. I'm thinking of using the slipstream as the exhaust, and the CM as the intake. Since the slipstream is so much more powerful, would that create a vacuum in my case? If so, is that bad?

Lower air pressure in the case is GOOD. It means more use of passive airflow areas, aiding the fans.

Read my guide (1st link in sig). Specifically read the section on Positive and Negative pressure and decide for yourself which one you want.

A note on your fans...Slipstream fans are terrible...review my guide for better case fans.

The Slip Streams actually aren't bad as open air fans. They're just complete crap on rads and HSF's. Pretty sure Vapor discovered that they actually make a ton of extra noise on a radiator, as well as having terrible performance.

The problem is, any restrictive surface shortens the life of Slipstreams. Scythe claims it's a "feature" that they use small motors, but that's the death of those fans. Those motors, especially in newer-manufactured Slipstreams, tend to overheat and fail against so much as a thick grille. That's why Yates are better for case fans.

Yeah, you could do a lot better for cheaper, but they aren't completely terrible as case fans.
