Default Prolimatech Mega/Rampage II Extreme/Fans

Hi All,

I need a little bit of advice. I'm thinking about purchasing a Prolimatech Mega and I have three questions. First, what are the best fans for this heatsink. I'm looking for something very quiet but will keep my temperatures cool overclocking an i7 to 4.0 GHz. Secondly, should I do a push/pull setup and how would I do that? Thirdly, will this heatsink fan combination fit on the Rampage II Extreme motherboard?

Any help/advice is greatly appreciate it.

The best fans for the Megahalem would be Panaflows, you can buy a second pair of fan clips if you want to go Push/Pull and it will fit on the RIIE mobo.

One 38mm fan like a San Ace would be better than two 25mm in push pull config. If you are going with a 38mm fan then your rams has to be low profile rams with no min heatsink on top (some can be removed like the corsair Dominator ddr3.
If you go with a 25mm, then you should be fine regardless what ram you use.

You are going to want one of these to get the best performance out of your Megahalems without being too loud. It isn't a silent fan, but it is quieter than the high-rpm monsters a lot of people use to cool off the Megahalems.

You will need to purchase 38mm fan clips in order to use this fan though, they can be found for $4 here, or you can contact Prolimatech and they will most likely send you some free of charge.

Also, I have your exact same setup and everything fits perfectly .
