Wow, I just realized how much the Dominators went up in price since I got them... 50 dollars more, actually. I can't say how much better one kit is than the other, but they both come out of the box at the same speed (though tighter timings on the Dominators since they revised them). I'd get the OCZ kit since the Dominators are so much more expensive... if they had gone DOWN in price, then I'd recommend them instead.

Understandable, but you can keep in mind X-mas/Black Friday savings. So you would recommend 'em, if they were $50 cheaper?

Looking at 6GB DDR3-1600 rated for 8-8-8-24 on Newegg, my recommendation would go to the OCZ Gold - cheap, reliable ram from a great company. IMO the actual memory chips vary so much these days that OCability on them is hit and miss regardless of company or fancy heatspreaders... since you're getting a 120x38, any taller than the sort of heatspreaders on the OCZ Gold will mess things up.

However, you could always get taller heatspreaders and just do what I did and make your own fan clips. You can then bend them as you desire to move the fan up or down

I have mine elevated above my G.Skills with two 40mm cooling fans

If they were 50 dollars cheaper, and the OCZ kit stayed the same price, then yes. The revised Dominators look even better than the originals.

I won't be able to do this alone my friend, but I can ask a member who wants to meet up with me. I asked him if he can help me build my rig, he agreed. I guess I can ask him if he is able to do such a thing. If not, OCZ Gold it is. Which of the two OCZ Golds do you recommend though?

don't count on them sales, I would aim for cyber monday.

The ram prices went up because the companies cut production back in the early summer due to large inventories and the economic market at the time. They are going to ramp up production slowly which would drive prices down with more supply.
