Default Best fan for Proli Megahalems?

Must be on newegg, or microcenter (maybe that zippy-thingy site might be cool too).

My $2,200 gaming paradise of rig, please look
http://www.overclock.net/general-cpu...-paradise.html

I also heard that Gskill Ripjaws wont fit, due to the Megahalems... so someone requested I go back to having my mind on something that will fit forsure.. like the OCZ Golds 6gb. Anyone have any idea or experience with the foxconn bloodrage + megahalem + i7 + memory

What do you guys say about the two choices of companies? One requires an aftermarket fan clip, and I'm assuming the Scythes don't.

Sorry there - I edited my post after you quoted me so I guess you didn't catch this portion:
"You want a 120x38 fan for the high static pressure on a Megahalem... sadly, this won't fit with any high-rise ram like the rip jaws. IMO, a cooler CPU > unnecessarily cooled RAM any day."

I would still stick with G.Skills as they're cheap and reliable kits - OCZ is great stuff too though. Just remember that sacrificing a bit of OC potential on the ram by getting standard heatspreaders is worth the extra clocks that a cooler CPU will fetch you

**edit** Scythe Sflex are about as good as static pressure gets on 120x25s, but just about any 120x38 will beat it any day.

You truely are an amazing person, thank you for breaking it down. I'm new this all. Started 3-4 days ago as a 2007 member with 5 posts.. now look where I am! I'm so hooked! Looks like I'm going with the Panaflo and buying a clip for the push/pull. So I can get the ripjaws, but I have to take off someting from them?

The memory, cooing, and hd.. are things I haven't FULLY researched. My apologies, if I came off rude by saying that. I'm just being honest.

I'm not sure how easy it is to "shorten" the spreaders on the Ripjaws, or if it's even safe to remove the spreaders (sometimes you'll pull the memory chips out with the spreaders)... but if you like Corsair, their Dominator modules have easily removable top fins; you just need a 1/32" allen key and they come right off. That's how I got the fan on the push side of my Hammer, in fact there's literally no clearance between the fan and the fin-less modules now, but it fits.

So go with the Dominator Corsair setup, and remove the top part with a 1/32" allen key? Will this be a better memory setup, then saving money and going with the OCZ Gold (Keep in mind there are two types of these I can get)?

If you mean this kit, you'd do just as well with that as using Dominators with removed fins, I'm more than sure the spreaders on Gold modules are low enough that you don't need to do anything. Just a warning with mounting on the Blood Rage, you will have a MUCH easier time if you remove the MOSFET heatsinks before you start mounting. I would have been saved LOADS of time if I had remembered they were easily removable... but anyway.

Yeah you linked the correct kit..

Now there is a price difference between these and the memory you have. What do you recommend? I want to OC my i7 920 <and will hand pick the batch I get at microcenter if possible>..

I will also be OCn my memory, but I am new to this all. Please forgive my lack of information, but I would like to ask...cuz our rigs will be some-what similar.
