Default Thermalight Bolt-Thru for Cogage True-Spirit.

Basically, how tight can I screw the spring-loaded screws in my 1366 socket?

I don't wanna break something, but I also want to fit it as tight as it can be. I didn't screw them all the way in, but it's a solid fit. Any movement of the cooler moves the m/b.

Right now, my CPU temp is 25C, cores range from 36C-40C. Under load the cores range from 59C-65C and the CPU temp never breaks 50C.

It's a massive improvement on the stock for my chip (cores idling @ 50C, CPU @ 38C) but, obviously, I want it lower.

I had heard good things about this cooler.

Also - everest ultimate is showing massive CPU temp spike (from 25C up to ~56C) for a second, then it returns to normal.

This spike doesn't show in speedfan, only in everest....

I got one last week with the bolt thru kit. The way it was explained to me was: use an equal number of turns on each screw in a criss cross (diagonal) fashion until the HS is not easily moved on top of the CPU... then give each screw a 1/4 turn. It's not an exact science. The clips that come with the spirit hold the unit on the CPU rather loosely.
