The best way I can think of is running it in another board, if the temps are normal then it's your motherboard, if not then it must be the diode.

From what I could see, it showed your actual CPU temp being 37C. The core temp usually ends up being around 5-10C cooler than that. So in theory, to be safe, add about 10C when you stress test. If you find the actual temp of the CPU, you can download something like speedfan if you'd like to monitor temps. Through there you can set a temperature offset.

It's a temp monitoring program that can also control fan speeds if need be. It's a beefier version of CoreTemp with a lot more features.

You could do this with your computer..... rig up a water sprayer to spray water on your heat sink. As the fans blew air over it, the water would evaporate and as it did, carry extra heat away with it. Obviously this is a really dumb idea in a computer because water would be going everywhere, but you could do it with a water-cooled setup by having a remote radiator and spraying water on it. Probably not worth the mess but I was just trying to illustrate the science behind it.
