Default Megahalems Blocking Mem Slots on P55 Mobos? Mod Some Clips!

While observing my P55 hardware, I've realized that using memory like GSkill Trident or Kingston HyperX or any memory with extremely tall heatspreaders can be obstructed or possibly tilted by the fan clips being up against it. Soooo, you can do what I've done...Mod some fan clips (if you do not want to use zip-ties). Take some needle-nose pliers and do a little bending here & there and voila! don't have to worry about the tall heatspreaders I had some old fan clips from using the Titan Fenrir heatsink and tried them out and there was too much slack. I took the pliers and proceeded to start altering the fan clip until it had fit perfectly. So basically, for you P55 mobo owners or anybody else who is having this problem with good 'ol MEGA, if you have a couple of old fan clips laying around, try them out 1st before you decide to use zip-ties

My guide has a link to making home made fan clips as well. Personally I was one of the first to receive the new Mega at OCN and they originally only came with 25mm clips and I had a San Ace...well your mod is great but the San Ace I received had 2/4 corners closed....don't discount zipties usefulness...especially in conjunction WITH the fan clips

Basically drilled a small hole in the closed corner to enable a zip tie to poke through. Yea I gotta cut the ziptie to get to take off the fan but that thing is more secure than any fan clip alone. Doesn't show it here but cut the tips off obviously =P

Oh this is actually the best example i've seen with zipties (nice & neat when you clip the excess as stated)...I've seen worse that makes you want to do this to the individual who had done it.

Here is a better shot of the mod after the zip tie was clipped...ignore the annoying woman in the background.
