Default What kind of fans.

So.

Im planning on going watercooling soonish and would like to know what fans to put on the radiators.

I would like a very very silent system so was thinking about getting the gentle typhoons. i also heard very nice things about the yate loons combined with a fan controller, but would the yates deliver enough static pressure for a radiator?

If you have the money definitely go with Gentle Typhoons they are quieter much higher quality and have a fair bit more pressure. Yes you can use the high speed yates but they aren't going to last as long as the Gentle Typhoon fans.

You might want to read through this thread. Martin goes in depth testing each fan and even provides videos of the noise each fan makes at different voltages.

The GentleTyphoon is my favorite fan for rads. Yate highs provide as much airflow through radiator as the GentleTyphoon and cost MUCH less, but in terms of noise level, it's no comparison.

It depends on the radiator, though Yates usually perform quite well on radiators. GentleTyphoons, though, have slightly better static pressure at equivalent noise levels.

In that case, Yates will do perfectly; I advise getting them from Aquatuning as they order directly from Yate Loon.

What about the S flex series? would you still stick with yates over them?

And for the record. i am buying a fan controller so i can speed the fans up and down.

Ah right, S-Flexes are even better. Yates just have a better price-performance ratio, but S-Flexes are better.

I have all 3 fan series . The S-Flexes are great fans and a step quieter than the Yates. I would choose them over the Yates if you don't mind paying a little more for them. (of course, if money doesn't matter I'd go with the GTs)
