Is this right for a TRUE/i7?

I bought a TRUE for my i7 860, lapped it to a mirror finish (of course, I made sure it was a perfectly flat bottom w/ graph paper and razor blade). Fan wise I'm using a 2000 RPM Ultra Kaze, and AS5 for my thermal compound.

I don't know if my expectations are too high for it, but this seems like it's running pretty warm for stock speeds. I've also read that with AS5, it needs about 200 hours to cure, but once the curing process is finished I should see a decrease of 3-5 degrees. Is there any truth to that?

AS5 does need 200 hours to cure which will decrease the temps a bit. Temps seem ok much better then mine at stock

Yeah I figured that out the hard way I think... it CLAIMS to be a high static pressure fan but really, I don't think it's working out so well. It's also a 38mm fan so it's a really tight fit inside my case, pressed right up against the RAM. I think on payday I'm going to pickup a couple smaller fans and do a push/pull config.

I'll check out your guide for sure, I'm definitely going to be getting some different fans... this kaze is noisy too.

kinda off topic but is there a way to make your computer shut off if temps pass a certain point?
