Default Buy CPU heatsink, mod case for flow, or both?

Hello alll. I just recently purchased parts to upgrade my system to how it is in my sig and was wondering what I should do to keep it cool. This will be the first time I am doing this myself as a friend helped me build this rig almost 3 years ago.

I've been looking at different CPU heat sinks, different fans, and case modding on the site and thought that my case could probably use all three seeing as everything I have is straight stock. I am looking to keep the system cool, don't mind a little noise but want to keep it relatively quiet while staying air cooled.

I had been looking at the Mugen 2 because it was relatively inexpensive and sounded like a good solution but wasn't sure what people meant by push/pull configs and how this was achieved.

My final area of confusion was with making the actual mods to the case. Is it relatively simple to do and what kind of tools and supplies should I look into purchasing to do so? If at all possible I'd like to pick them up after work today. Thanks for your time y'all .

The Antec 180 has good airflow to begin with so you dont need to do any modding as long as you arent doing some really serious overclocks. As for a heatsink Im going to recommend what everyone does, either the TRUE or Megahalems because they are the 2 best heatsinks you can buy for the money.

Agree that its a pretty good case but for being inexpensive and good I would go with the Dark Knight cooler. See my guide for more suggestions.

In respect to the modding I was mainly considering cutting out the metal mesh in the front behind the filter screen and putting in better fans. Since they're all the ones that came with the case I figure after having them for so long I should prolly replace them with new ones, maybe get some that push more are through. Would that be a wise decision?

Since I've never used anything but a stock heatsink I would prolly want one that is easy to apply. With that in mind would a TRUE, Megahalems, Mugen 2 or Dark Knight be better? I think it was the Megahalems that I heard was a bit tricky so I'm not sure if I'd wanna play around with my new chip like that.

Yate Loon mediums if you don't have a fan controller are great for case fans. They have good static pressure to pull/push air especially in regards to mesh and dust filters. Purchase them through Petrastechshop or Aquatuning

Mega was easy with the 1366 socket that it was originally made for. As for the AMD socket I know you have to have a separate bracket purchased for it but it is a very solid mounting system regardless.
