All good. You ought to look in the for sale section for good deals on parts for that watercooling setup though. People have some great stuff at great prices in there. As for the tubing, I bought 10 feet and used 5, but still, be safe and get 10. Might make a cool straw later on. You can get tubing and clamps at good prices at sidewinder, along with some ph nuke (necessary to prevent algae buildup)

If you are even thinking about going watercooling, then just go for it right off the bat. Otherwise, you are just going to waste money on a good aircooler that you will put aside in a few months in lieu of some nice w/c gear.

Quote:
TRUE 120 or Proli Megahalem - $70 2 x 38mm quality fans - $40 X23-7783D / ICD 7 karat - $10 ish + more fans for intake/exhaust and you are coming very close to cost of a w/c setup.

Well really he will only be paying for the cooler. The fans can be reused for his radiator and the TIM is still going to be used on the CPU block.

Why would you even need to water cool? Did I miss something? If your not overclocking it would be a waste of money. Considering this is your first build, I'd say let's get the thing built first. And no HSF is worth $70.

I'd say go with a cheap air cooling setup for now and research water more before you go that rout. You can get a decent heatsink like the mugen 2 or the hyper 212+ for now and sell once your ready for wc'ing

i agree with this. get to know your mobo and cpu first. you spend 50 bucks on an air cooler, you use it for a few months and then put it aside. who knows, he might end up building another computer for someone else and he can throw it in there. i cant tell you how many times its paid off for me to have an extra hsf laying around.
