The thing I do like seeing is that you have equal temps across all cores which is due to a great lap job.

Hopefully this will get some people to lap theirs that do not have their IHS lapped so some of us that are still non-lapped can see some temps changes.
Honestly it was seeing the temps the same across all cores that got me all excited. I've never seen anyone else with it. Not saying that I'm that great, just had a bit too much spare time. I'm working on getting a higher OC right now. Gotta read through what ok load temps are for my Q6600.

I guess I should lap mine as well. I barely saw 1-2C drop from lapping my Q9650 so that was dissapointing.

Is it ok to start of with 400 grit when lapping a heatsink or do I need to start of with a lower grit number.

400 is suggested. I just didn't have enough of it to guarantee that I'd have the heatsink flat by the time it was loaded up. This is the only reason I went with lower. Good Luck!!

Here's a Screenshot of me testing @ 3.6GHz. I couldn't get this stable before at a decent temperature. I'm so happy with how this is turning out. And this is with crappy fans. I might try and push for 3.8GHz once they come in, or I'll just try and be content with 3.6 when I get it stable...only time will tell.

Wow, that is pretty nice! Like others have said, I think you are the first one here to lap your Megahalems. You are brave!

I was able to OC my i7 920 to 4.0GHz with my Megatron and 2 S-Flex "G" fans. Was thinking about lapping the CPU to see if temps. would drop more.

Yup, Yates are scheduled to be here Thursday. Fedex was pretty slow. I know they are from Oregon...I ordered from Danger Den...but I ordered them Thursday morning of last week. Would have thought that they would have been here in less then a week. Anyways, here's to hoping. I ran Prime95 small fft's last night for 8.5 hours, finished without any problems.
