a friend bulk purchased a pack of CM's 120mm silent fans.
well yes they were silent, only drawing 0.12A how noisy could they be..
and there was the airflow, which was appalling. box mentioned something about close to 50CFM's but that airflow it put out was far from 50CFM. could barely feel anything.

id go honestly if you have the room in your case, with a corsair h50, the system brought my friends 920 down in temps far enough for him to oc up to 4.1 ht on 24/7 stable. For 79 bucks you cant even complain about the price of the unit. so i would go for that or a decent low noise solution in the air cooling circle. i m not up to date with air coolers, but if you read between the lines, theres a lot of good coolers in the lower budget area for non overclocked procys.
he did mention about the high pitched whine though - dialing the loons down with speedfan could provide a possible solution.
silence when power is not needed, and power when it's needed

thanks anyway for reminding me about the 'noisy' part, guess i sorta overlooked it
