I recently added some pantyhose filters to my 932, and noticed that the intake power of my fans decreased. I used the highly scientific method of putting a piece of paper in front of the fan and see how well it stays. I was wondering if the lack of air flow is worth the lack of dust inside my case. What would you guys pick. If it helps, I've got about 3 bottles of air to clean should I need to, although, my PC is in my room, and the dust is bad enough.

Well if it is effecting temps, I'd take them off.
If not, dust free is what you what to be.

I live in the desert, dust is pretty bad. Every 2 weeks I open my case up and give it a thorough blow job.
If you have a cat that sheds a lot, thats bad as well... My stepdad pulls cat hair out of his CPU fan with tweezers in chunks. If you don't have a problem with regularly maintaining your computer to be dust free, then the filters can be without, unless they don't disrupt the airflow too too much.

if ur case gets to dusty that will as well hurt on temps, and massively restrict on airflow

The inherent problem with Panty Hose filter is the difficulty of cleaning it. One must ask themselves what would be more difficult... Taking the side panel off on a regular basis to blow it out, or removing the side panel, removing the front of the case, clean the panty hose, reinstall the panty hose, so on and so on...

You normally want to blow the dust out of the case, rather than suck the dust out. More effective and it takes less time.

Yes Duster and a vacuum are my pc's 2nd best friend next to the interwebz. Altho the panty hose method worked wonders for me. I think airflow really depends a lot on how you stretch it (the hole size).

I have a p180 and it is a breeze to change my air filters and my airflow isn't restricted at all.

The only way dust is going to restrict airflow in your case iis if it jams your fans, not saying that its good to be in there but i think airflow is more important than pantyhose, also i bought an electric duster from metrovac, -----this thing rocks, it blows harder than canned air and comes with all the attatchments for getting into small spaces in your computer, you have to be careful or it will blow the little attatchments right off though. It was only 50 bucks, which isnt a bad deal considering how much canned air costs, and it never runs our, also comes with a 10 year warranty.
Heres the link to the site if anyones interested, i think it was a good investment, and you wont have to worry about airflow just blow your comp out a every few days. http://www.metrovacworld.com/Shoppin...t_id=DataVacED As for cat hair, you can buy screens (not filters) that fit almost any fan size and wont restrict airflow at all, but should be small enough to keep hair out, especially if you put one of both sides of your intake fans. http://xoxide.com/12alfanfil.html you can actually see through that filter, becuase its just a screen. I have them on all my fans.
