Default airflow on antec 902

Well the 902 has 3 slots where either fans can go or 3X 5.25 drives

Currently I'm set to the default where my two fans are on the bottom and my dvd drive is on the top

The blue circle indicated another case fan when the side panel is on.

(I know my cable management isn't the best atm... I'm waiting on my megahalems to come in)

Question 1:
I was curious if anyone tired putting a fan in the top rack and moving the 3x drives down to the bottom for better airflow? If so what are the disadvantages to putting my dvd drive down there (most likely will be adding a Sunbeam RHK-BA Rheobus and some kind of card reader) other then having to reach down and put the cd / dvd in the tray?

Currently my EVGA 295 is running 69°C on full load (overclocked too) while my CPU is starving and hitting 77°C full load on stock... again i'm going to be RMAing this cooler and I should have the megahalems in two days (got two san ace fans also)

Question 2: once I get my megahalems and add the two san ace fans will it matter that the fan circled in red is SLOWER then the san ace fan pushing towards it?

When I did a build for my father over the summer, I chose to purchase the 900, just because of price and airflow, when I was screwing around with the case, I was debating the best options in terms of airflow and look. Needless to say, I was in your exact position.

The way I positioned the front was as follows:
Blue = Fan
Black = Spacer
Red = DVD drive
[-------]
[-------]
[-------]

[-------]
[-------]
[-------]
[-------]
[-------]

[-------]

I believe I achieved maximum frontal airflow (for being stock), got cold (read: room temp...) fresh air to both the CPU and the GPU. If I were you, I would put your fan controller where the 1st spacer is on my diagram, and depending on whether or not you have your computer on your desk or next to the desk, on the floor, position the optical drive either below the fan controller, or at the bottom of the case. I liked it at the bottom of the case. My father keeps his case on his desk so it gives him pretty easy access to the optical drive.

Yes and no. The fan circled will not be able to compensate for the increased air that's being forced into it, that being said, the rest of the hot air, not being able to escape will rise, as well as be forced by your 120mm side fan (assuming you have one) up to the top of the case, getting blown out by the huge exhaust fan.

Thanks for that. I thought the 3X 5.25 bays had to be all in the same place.. Since the case is on the ground I might actually leave the DVD drive but move both fans up (also depends on where they will land in comparison to my GFX card since its huge..)

I'm hopeful that Ill have a Megahalem in by Wednesday

Have you considered facing your heatsink up, towards the top 200mm fan?

That's how i'm running my TRUE at the moment. I believe the massive top fan is able to draw away the hot air from the heatsink faster than the rear 120mm exhaust fan.

I have my Antec 900 like this:

[-------] - Spacer
[-------] - Hard drive
[-------]
[-------] - Hard drive
[-------] - DVD Burner
[-------] - Hard drive
[-------]
[-------]
[-------] - Spacer

The blue areas are of course the drive bays. Having it that way leaves it more open on the bottom for my GTX 280 to get air from the lower fan as well as my side panel one. It also helps keep the hard drives cool. When my apartment's ambient temp is like 24c or so, my idle temps on my CPU with a Zalman 9700 are 28-30c and load is 54-60c tops.
