Default Dark Knight on AM3 board?

i got the xigmatek dark knight, but i noticed that there was no backplate for an amd board, just some little clip

do i need to order the backplate separately, or will the clip work fine?

You don't need a backplate since the clips are there.
EDIT: Here I just found the thread for if you wanna mount vertically with your xigmatek

If you bought the Dark Knight that is only for the Socket 775, than you'll need a seperate AM2/3 backplate

You dont need a back plate for any xiggy. the clips work. The clips are holding my xiggy, keeping the 955 cool. My idle is usually 36-41 depending on room temps.

Hitting 3.8 was easy, getting a stable 4.0 ghz, that will be a challenge!

Amd's stock mounting system works pretty damn well, the clip will be fine
