Default Prolimatech Mega Shadow... Not Black?

The point of this thread is to save people some cash and deter people from buying the Mega Shadow. Just buy the normal Megahalem.

My Prolimatech Mega Shadow came in the mail and I installed it but the entire time I was wondering "This is not black...".

I paid a premium for the Mega Shadow and was hoping to match the inside of my case but had I known it was going to be just a darker shade of silver, I would have gone with the normal version.

Either way, 27C idle with a 1450rpm Gentle Typhoon on stock settings on my i7 860 so it does it's job and I can't complain in that department. (Going to start OCing after fixing the wires.)

Here are some pictures, I had to fire the flash right on top of it because reflections make it "look" black. But it really is not.

(Pardon the messy wires and thumb prints. This is my first build and I'm still trying to figure out how to reduce the wire clutter. I also didn't bother cleaning the top of the cooler. Also, I think the fan is facing the wrong way but this entire thing is a WIP. I am just making sure everything functions.)

...I hope you notice light reflecting off the cooler so it looks brighter right? Put it in a darker place and it will look darker.

Yeah but I don't want it to "look darker", I want to be black.

I mean, the whole point of paying extra was for aesthetic purposes only and had I known it was just a different shade rather than an actual color difference, I would have gone with the original Megahalem.

This is just to inform people that the extra cash is probably not worth it.

Maybe not better temps but I would say so due to him not pulling hot air from his GPU below.

Has that been proven? Sure it makes sense, but id like to see someone paint a heatsink and compare the results.
