Default Different temp readings?

hi all.

just bought a zalman 9900NT few days ago and the difference it makes seems huge to me, comparing to the previous intel stock cooler anyway.

so i had both nvidia system monitor and ausu pc probe turned on, and i got this

also bios temp reading is the same with asus probe, now i dont remember having this problem with my very old dfi xxxx ( too old to remember its model no) mobo, could anyone suggest me with some possibilities?

thanks.

YOW!... try ummm speedfan it monitors accurate temps and RealTemp too. But i like Speed Fan i never liked Asus probe fan but it does it's job but speedfan is more accurate. 48c is not BAD but a lil too hot you wanna keep it below more like a 30c range or so. Did you apply thermal right? What did you use? I think the Nvidia is telling the truth more than asus probe but try Speedfan and see what your temps are. Just remember it depends on your cable management and airflow and case you're using ALSO. Is your PC clean too? Gimmie details and pm me if you have to i'll try to help if i can.

thanks for the replies.

yeah i think my case was okay cable wise and air flow wise, used to build a lot of machines...

used zalman STG2 or whatever it was called which came with the heatsink package, i heard it was good, plus my AS5 had been sitting there for a good 2 years now, thought that might be no good

so i tried speed fan too, and its the same reading with nvidia monitor(around 35C), what made me confused was the mobo BIOS temp reading( which normally reflects the true temp, obv not in my case)

i did a bit of OC on it too, Conroe E6420, from 2.1G to about 2.4G, probably not the best timing coz its starting to get really hot in OZ here, was 37C yesterday lol

thanks for the quick reply

You should know your CPU Tj Max to get a better result. Different result happen because of different Tj Max.
I tried using Real Temp, CoreTemp, and HW Monitor and none of them report the same temp. Finally I realize that the Tj Max value is different in those censors.
