a week ago i mentioned in the yate loon thread that the D80SM12 was serving as a 'personal cooler'.
a week later, i got tired of running multiple molex extensions from my pc, and due to the hot weather, one was just not enough. so i assembled a team of... ![]() powered by... ![]() sorry for being crazy, but yes, my exams were coming to an end and i just had to show my cousin that this is possible. ![]() the battery life sucks though... one 9V cell for half a day straight. ROFL...So how many watts are you able to pull from the battery? I am sure those fans aren't running at full capacity. Kinda like how a weak fan controller only has 7w/channel.
That IS awesome though and seeing as how nothing uses 9v batteries anymore this is a good way to use them up LOL What fans are you using? How long per amp pull can the battery last? Say a .5 amp fan can last 48 hrs or whatever...just interested ![]() EDIT: +rep for that...just hilarious and unique.

all those fans are undervolted, running at 9v. but they still do push some air. the two 60mm's are pieces of crap, barely any airflow. just left them there for the fun of it. :P the 92mm AVC, being 92mm, pushes far more than the rest, but it's also a far more dangerous fan than the rest, LOL. yes, i still have lots of new 9V batteries. the other time my school used wireless mics that ran on 9v (sennheiser ew100), and then one day they all got replaced with ew100g2's that ran off AA sized batteries. so the av dude (i'm part of av crew as well, lol) kindly donated me a stock of 25 9v batteries ![]() ![]()

during my upcoming holidays i shall try to see the connection between an accelerator pedal, an outboard PSU, and a couple of 120mm, 1.05A AVC fans.

what say i add a LED to it. LOL.
i have one lying around but it's half broken i think. supposedly a green LED. it glows correctly (green) on 1.5V, turns orange at 7V and goes red at 9V. and i think i broke it because the LED was bright at first and after the 9V torture it was dim as hell.
