I like to pick one piece of hardware and become really familar with it, for cases its the 1200,my question. What's the Forums opinion on the stock fans that come with the 1200? my experience is that I find them lacking (in cfm) and I add or replace fans, yes they are in the "quiet" spectrum even on high but I don't feel a lot of air moving.
__________________Do people usually maintain the top 200mm fan or go for something better? How many of the front bay fans do people usually agree to give up so something else can fit there? Is it common for others to put fans on the see through side? I do espicaly if I want to make up for losing a front bay fan. Has anyone found rubber grommets for the cable management pass through holes? (I slipped this one in as I do know its not a cooling question)

the top 200mm fan shouldnt really be pushing a lot of air since it is pretty big
and i have no idea... the stock 1200 already has a fan on the see through side and try frozencpu.com or xioxide for the rubber grommets maybe mnpctech.com

The Antec big boy 200mm fan is rated for 134cfm at 30 dBa, even if these number are a little skewed that is still an impressive fan in my book. The 120mm fans are just as good, rated at 73cfm at 36 dBa, and they are tri-cools so you can tune them down if they are a little too loud. all in all, the fans on the 1200 are very good, especially for stock fans. There is no reason to change out the 200mm unless you are looking for extreme performance, and that will get loud. Personally, I would leave all three of the 120mm fans up front, I would even sacrifice 1 or 2 of the remaining 5.25" drive bays to fit a nice 360mm radiator up front, but thats just me, I never use more than one disk drive. On a side note, why do you need grommets for the holes, unless you drilled them yourself (dont know why you would need this) because the holes should have no sharp edges. my

As stated above the stock Antec Big Boy is one of the top rated fans of its size. As for the 120mm fans there are betters out their but for stock fans they are pretty darn good. If your looking for case fan upgrades on the cheap then look at Yate Loon Mediums from Petra's.
Overall the stock cooling is pretty significant, if anything just add fans to your current configuration but if you plan on changing out the fans you will probably not see a significant decrease in temps anywhere.

yea they are kinda low in cfm...I took all of them out on mine...I replaced them with led antec tri cools but they are the same (lol) but they are definitely better than stock coolermaster fans on my cm690 that hardly push air coz its VERY low rpm fans > at least they have built in controllers and have led lights

Thanks to all, I am pleased with the 200mm performance but just wonder if I was missing something a little better.
__________________Pohtangina, at least we are on the same page in regards to the "lackluster" performance of the front fans. Is it a valid test to place your hand in the case and see if you can actually feel air moving? with the stock front fans I just don't feel a lot of moving air and I want significant air blowing on my RAM block, just isn't happening with those "limp" stock fans. In regards to the grommets for the cable management holes, have you seen the Corsair 800D? their cable management holes all have grommets and I though it was not only good looking but actualy offered protection for the cable that passes through, just some fine touches thats all. +rep to all for giving your helpful pointers.

<for the top HD cage>theres a plastic frame that holds the fan...apparently you can switch it to other end of the cage (I havent tried this yet but...)then maybe somehow move the HDs in the bottom HD cages place / then the fan is somewhat closer to the mobo/ram > then maybe buy a hi rpm yate loon to replace the stock fans

op I own a 1200 and IMO the fans that come with it are good enough to maintain a good airflow and keep your system cool as long as you do some cable management. i see no point in changing the fans other than for aesthetics or your really going for high overclocks on both your gpu and cpu... as for swapping the front fans they are pretty easy there's a 1 screw on both sides that holds the front face to the cages (look up tjharlow on youtube)
hope this helps

Pzy, I apreciate the feedback, I am going to stick with this case and see just how many ways I can mod it(recieved my second today from Mister Automatic, OCN for sale forum worked good). I do find some who feel its,how can I say it, "this case has no culture" to plain Jane" but I like working with the 1200. +rep for sharing your experiences.
