Hi everyone! I recently noticed that my 9800GT was getting pretty ht while playing games so I wondered, If i have 2 spare 120mm fanss how can I use them to cool my GPU? Well my idle temp. for my GPU was about 63-64c. Under full load of a game it would max at about 95-98c. I dont know about you but that is too hot.
After a little thought and IMAGINATION, I found out it was simple to do. Your list of supplies will be: 4 small zip ties 2 large zip ties 2 120mm fans Step 1: Positioning your fans This is very important. You need to place them in the position you see best then plan for cable management. After you decide where you want your fans to be, its time to zip tie! I have Pics below on how I did it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 2: Zip tie the fans to the GPU Well the step name pretty much says what you do here. Pics are below. [/URL]![]() ![]() Step 3: Turn your PC on and watch as the temps. drop! Here is the final pic for me. My idle temp. is now 53c and 86c underload. Hey me! ![]() I hope you enjoyed this, thanks for reading! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() : cheers:![]()

Holy crap your GPU's run hot. Do you use Evga's precision tool to adjust your fan speed?

so the 2 fans stay on top of the card, and they blow out air?

Yeah, that's hotter than my 4890 which is known for doubling as a hot plate. Somethings wrong. Resinking your cooler would have been my first step.

Ripping the plastic cover off and strapping those fans to the heat sink might actually work better.
