I bought a V8 didnt know it came some good thermal paste?
Ive seen reviews about TF400 being better than AS5, I cant find any actual results though? I bought AS5 and am thinking of returning it, if that TF400 is better. Anyone here have experience with TF400 and AS5? Thanks In Advance.

AS5 is was tested and reviewed as a A+ Thermal paste, from what i have read in the past it was the best thermal paste next to the Shin Etsu or something thermal paste.

I'd just keep the AS5 lying around for spare
![]() The best way to test this is to figure out what the burn in time for the TF400 is (the AS5 is 200 hours) and then test each one. So you'd run AS5 for a bit after it's burn in time was over, and then bench it and see what it gets as far as temps go. Then test the TF400 the same way.

i read something that tf400 is zero-curing time. If I have a tube of arctic silver 5 in my drawer how long til is expires and it becomes crusty/unusable etc?

Neither is very good.
AS5 is old stuff. MX-2, MX-3, and OCZ Freeze are better and unlike AS5 they don't conduct electricity.

Looks like the TF400 is in 4th place. The best is the Tuniq TX-3, then Noctua NT-H1, and in 3rd place Arctic Cooling MX-3.

![]() And I don't think that it ever expires... Does it? My friend has boat loads of the stuff just sitting in drawers and they work just fine. Quote:
MX-2/3 have no burn in time and do not conduct electricity, yes. And they do cool a bit better, yes. But AS5 can still hold its own and still does a helluvalot better than stock paste.
