This is just a quick comparison of the two. The coil difference is almost double the size on the Petra-Yate.
It's absolutely staggering how bad these Jab-Tech models are that they try to pass off for the real deal.
Though all 4 of these Jab-Tech's died on me in 4 months of owning them.
Both of these are D12SH-12's (Aka Yate Loon 120mm x 120mm x 25mm High Speed models)
Differences:
Petra's have - Larger Coils, Larger/Stronger magnets, Better Caps
Jab-Tech's on a 15min run @ full speed (12v) ran @ 2020RPM (outside the 5% deviation level, measured with an FC-5) and were 3.98*C hotter than a Petra's (which ran at 2190 RPM, inside the 5% deviation level)
Similarities:
Same outer housings & fan/blade designs.
Certainly contradicts what I'd been saying before, that the high-speed models used the same-size motors... making an edit of my own in a certain sig link.

Glad I used the Yates I got from Jab-Tech for shrouds.
Weird, I have only bought Jab Tech Yates and have only had 2 bad ones, out of about 10 total. I used some to gut them for shrouds and the rest as case and rad fans. Had some as long as 8 months and they still work fine.

Yes but I doubt they perform as well as others. I invite you to open up the fans and take shots of Impeller.

Your Mediums most likely will look like the ones up top but perform closer to Petra's yates.
The smaller coils will make less of a difference at lower RPMs.
I use all of my fans on a Fan Controller as well (Lamptron FC-2 Revision 1)
All of my fans work fine (a huge collection) but Jab-Tech yates have been a terrible experience. And gutting them has showed they're low quality.
Here's a picture of a Yate Loon D12SL-12 that I got from a different vendor. As you can see, the motor is blue and the coils are much smaller like the Jab-Tech model TatorTot posted. Next time I will be ordering from Petra's.
I thought something was a bit off when these Yates I got from Jab-Tech would only do 2000RPM vs. the advertised 2200RPM. All of them still work (I'm using 5), but one is starting to make a ticking sound. The only problem is that Petra's (at least at the time of purchase) were out of Yates for months. Not going to complain too much since I think the fans were only $3.60 per unit.

$3.50 per fan is the sale price I bought them on just to see the difference. And it's definitely a noticeable difference in acoustic profiles

Looks like I'll have to load the old pay-pal account and go shopping. What's really buggin' me is that my 240mm internal rad is just horrible to get out. It sits literally 1mm above my RAM slots
. O well, the rig needs a good cleaning anyways
.
Oh and before I forget, nice job on comparing the two Tator
Whew, lucky for me, I bought my Yate Loon mediums from Petra's when they were located in San Jose. I only use them as case fans though. I currently got Link Depot fans on my rad, and not sure if they are good quality.
