CPU Parameter Recall
Has anyone ever used this feature and had success with it? (comes with most asus boards nowadays)

Well, i know that when i fail at OC'ing, i can just hard restart (psu on/off) and it will turn back on with the saved OC'ing settings, but sometimes it crashes anywyas (I don't know why). So i'm not sure if it's a button you have to use or if it automatically does its magic.

It is an extremely useful feature. If you put in an overclock that fails, the BIOS will restore the motherboard to a stable setting, for example, I try to boot with an Intel E6400 (stock: 2.1ghz) overclocked at 3.6, and with higher voltage. It fails and the board restores me to 2.8 ghz. That way I can get into the BIOS and change things without having to open up the case and reset the CMOS. It saves a lot of time and effort.

actually thats what the 3 pins and the jump are for, just move the jumper to the second and third pins and turn the computer on, turn off and move the jumper back to the first and second.

Overclock it or Die!

If my board doesn't POST after 20 seconds my motherboard automatically resets to stock clocks. Is that what you're talking about?

with the Asus boards that have it, if your system fails due to an overclock, there is about a 90% chance that it will be restored to stock, or close to stock. However it doesn't change your settings, so the CPU will operate at say 2.8 ghz, but it will have the setting set to 3.6 ghz but it won't be "set". That way you don't lose all your settings.

Hi all!
__________________I have a P5B which has the C.P.R feature, but after trying to OC I just get a black screen after rebooting, and nothing happens after, even after 10 minutes. I tried rebooting the computer several times but I just get a black screen. Any advice would be great! I have a Q6600 btw! Thank you!
