Default omg wot have i done!

whilst playing in my bios settings I have altered the cpu multiplier from "START" (which I assume will be default) to the next on the list which was x4 now I cant get my comp working.
switches on and off with all usual lights on
no bios screen
keyboard appears dead (caps lock light doesnt come on)
no beeps
dvd/cd drawers open
mouse lights up (tho that happens even when machine turned off)
moniter light stays amber and screen remains blank
cpu fan working
please can anyone help?

Try booting up with only what you need. CPU, PSU, graphics and memory - no hard drive

Take the small battery on your motherboard out and put it back in. Usually found at the bottom. That should reset everything.

Or you could just short the 2 & 3 CMOS pins and reset it much easier. Or on some motherboards if you hold Insert when you boot up and you should be able to change everything back to default.

disconnecting the hard drives didnt work
but removing the battery did

wife thanx you as she now gets to cruise foreign properties on her laptop
now i can get down to overclocking the thing properly tho I think I might ask first this time
