Here's the skinny:
__________________I'm attempting to flash my BIOS to Tony's 704-2bta version using TMOD's CD. Well I got as far as selecting that BIOS and hitting enter, and now it appears to be stuck on starting up the flashing process. It just says: Starting Caldera DR-DOS... Have I done something wrong? I don't see where that could have happened. More importantly though, since I'm postive the flashing process shouldn't take more than a minute or so, is it at point where it is safe to restart? I don't want to corrupt my BIOS becuase I was impatient, but its not flashing either. Any ideas?

Anyone have any ideas why the CD might now be working? I get to the menus and everything but when I select a BIOS to flash it just sits at the screen telling me its Starting Caldera DR-DOS...

I'm seleting the 704-2bta BIOS, says it works with every NF4 board except the expert and Venus. Doesn't give any erros, just hangs on that message. I see a lot of other people (here and on other forums) running that BIOS with my board, so I don't know why it wouldn't work for me?
__________________I mean its not a huge deal if I can't get it to go, I got a decent OC out of the stock BIOS, I was just hoping to get a little more.

Tmod's CD includes a very important and specific page of instructions you're supposed to follow through with when flashing. Hold on, I'll look for a screenshot..
EDIT: ![]() Those instructions may apply to you and might be the issue, although I'm not 100% sure. Worth a try though, if you can get through them.

I saw those, according to the title of that page, those instructions are for after the flash has completed. I reset to the default setting before attempting to flash, but do you think I need to clear the CMOS to be sure?

Default should do it, but a clearing wouldn't be a bad idea.
Make sure you return the jumper before powering up, had to be said ![]()

I cleared the CMOS and it looks like its still a no go. The stupid part is I don't even know what the problem is. It still just hangs on that Starting Caldera message.
__________________EDIT: I tried flashing a different BIOS and that gets me to the same spot. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the BIOS, just with this Caldera DR-DOS part of the flashing process...

Does the BIOS have a Flash Protect feature?
