Default Bios Limited for overclock

Why is my overclocking being limited to 228x11 and will set back to auto whenever set higher?
Anyway to make an unlimited overclocking possible, like 250x11, possible
By the way, i am using a Zalman heatsink, and sure can go anywhere higher than where i am

when you say set back to auto, do you mean you save the settings (like 228x11 for example) restart, it trys to post, fails and then resets the bios to default settings?

funny, thats what mine does, but I have an asus m2n32-sli premium.

Check your bios for the (attempted) cpu speed. Perhaps it may display something unexpected. Mine is supposed to display lets say 3000, but instead its gonna show up with like 4200 or something cuz it ignores my lowered multiplier and goes with stock.. dont know how or why.
