Absolutely.... do a CMOS clear before a BIOS update.... performing a flash on an OCed system can cause problems.

wth ??!! i just updated my MB bios to version 1603 from 1201 and i lost 9 FPS in the Crysis 1.5 benchmark.....i set all clocks and bios settings back to exactly where they were before the bios flash , the only change is the updated bios....anyone know any reasons that would cause this...this bios is advertised to increase SLI performance...not reduce it....i dont get it.

i read that the 1603 were the most stable as the 1701 seemed to have some bugs.either way , i updated from 1201....i would like to think the newer ones would have increased performance....mine has gone down. im running 3dmark now...i will compare the results and post them in a minute.

wow...i updated the MB bios again to the newer 1701 and i lost 2 more FPS in the Crysis benchmark.....whats going on here ?? the newer bioses cannot degrade performance that much...they are supposed to improve them..there has to be something else going on here.maybe i should go back to the 1201 and see if that helps.....
