Question BIOS chip programmer?? (flash writer?)

Hey all! Sorry if it's been discussed, but I don't even KNOW how to begin to tell the computer what to search for.

Is there some kind of hardware that I can buy to program PLCC BIOS chips?? Some kind of "chip writer" or "chip programmer", etc.?

Thanks, all!!

Update: (is it called a "flash writer"?) http://sandeen.net/fwfix/index.html ????

That's great if your board has a socketed BIOS chip.

Look carefully at what I linked. It has 2 plcc sockets on it. 1 eeprom dip socket and several small dip sockets for other devices. LOOK carefully at the plcc sockets.

"Oh, I SEE!" said the blind man to his deaf dog, as he picked up his hammer and saw; "It's all coming back to me as I pee into the wind".

Not bad. Thank you for that find, and for your patience. REP. Looks like nice equipment, or at least a useful learning experience.

So, I don't even know how to begin to use this thing. I haven't bought it yet, but after some research, I see that Willem seems to have a few different options. Trying to locate these sort of things on the web is "hard as nails" to accomplish.

I posted over on the Willem forums, asking what would be their best product for flashing BIOS to various types of EEPROM, especially PLCC-32pin and DIP-8pin.

Anyone have additional info for me?
