I was wondering if it is worth the switch from my 0703 bios to the Version 0803 one or even the Version 0901 beta one?

Id go ahead and flash to 0803 since you have the 940. It also enables ACC... which I dont think people are using. Im still on 0703 b/c of my 99 fitty

It kinda scares me because asus site when you go to looking at the bios versions asks you what OS you are using and win7 isn't an option, but there is winxp32 winxp64 vista32 and vista64, so i am wondering if it matters or not which one i select to get the right bios version for my system... I don't want to have to throw my mobo in the trash.

flash from thumb drive in bios, thats what i did with the 0703 bios and it worked fine. also, if i want the newest beta version, do i have to install the 0803 first and then the 0901?

Yes as it should... i would update to 0803 with a 940 Just remember that ACC will be enabled, so turn it off if you cant get it to boot. Some PSU's etc etc do not run well with it. I dont see how it would have an issue Win7

ok, but is it different files etc. if i select different OS's on asus's site to get to the downloads? or does any selection give you the same file for the bios updates, which one should i select while using win7?

0703 was for the 940BE. 0803 is for the newer CPU's, like the 955BE. I won't bother updating unless it's absolutely needed.
If it doesn't hurt, then I guess it's ok, but if you have everything running smooth, why possibly ruin a good thing ?
