Default pheonix bios update

i have a everex laptop that sounds like its under water or sounds like it running on slow speed. i updated the driver realtec. still the same problem. so i want to clear the cmos but cant find the little battery.
so there a bios update i downloaded and cant figure how to install the new bios.

How old is your laptop? Maybe you got one of them stupid batteries from back in the day that look like a DIP Chip.

Did it come with a boot disk that can pop you into "DOS"? I looked through an Everex Cloudbook user guide and that used a disk that ran DOS then you used some command called Phlash. Or you could make a bootable USB with Phlash and your bios update on it, boot to that USB, then run the Phlash update from there I guess.
