Re-image help. - Overclock.net

Hey all.

Buddy overwrote his BIOS with wrong image. Paid to have it written back to the proper image. System won't boot. Tried re-seating chip, then clearing mobo by removing power and CMOS battery.

The company (remaining nameless for now) overwrote the chip that I sent them, supposedly with the proper image.

Does it sound like the bios company messed up? It's a reputable biz, and they really seem to know their stuff. Opinions please!!

Sounds like it's a problem other than the BIOS chip if they put the right BIOS on it.

I don't know that they did.

it was for an MSI board in an eMachine. maybe they can provide it? :-/

Well if he paid for the bios to be written, and they didn't, then you should send it back to them or demand a new BIOS chip.
Also, are you soldering the chip on yourself, or are you sending the whole montherboard in?

No solder. It is a PLCC socket chip. I'm in the process of dealing with the company. I'll get back to ya. Thanks!
