So as long as I the ACC option in my bios I should be able to unlock the 4th core on my AMD X3 710? I just bought this motherboard and it came with a bios feature ACC, I can see cpu cores ranging from 0 to 3, where it looks like:

CPU Core 0

Cpu Core 1

Cpu Core 2

Cpu Core 3

Does this mean I've unlocked the hidden core since Core 0 is being acknowledged?

I'm not sure if I have F2C bios, I don't see anywhere in my bios page which version it is. Does anyone know how I can check?

Open up CPU-Z program (or download it if you haven't install it) and click the "mainboard" tab. It will tell you the bios and etc.

Has anyone else had issues with their motherboard's ethernet port after updating to this BIOS?

I installed the F2C BIOS and did everything as described, but I had to reset the CMOS after it tried to update the EC Firmware. I assume it's because I didn't raise the voltage on the CPU or something. (I'm still new to this stuff)

Anyway, while I'd like to figure out why that didn't work, my other concern is that my ethernet port seems to have stopped working. At first I could browse the internet fine, with certain things (Windows Update, TwitterFox) complaining about not being able to connect. After rebooting, the internet stopped working completely. After reseting my router and modem a number of times, I finally just grabbed a network card out of another computer and threw it in. I can connect as usual on this card, but it's still kind of annoying that my motherboard ethernet port went out. :/

Yes, I had that same exact issue. What I did was uninstall the network adapter (Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

Device Manager > Network Adapters. After you uninstall hit the button 'scan for hardware changes' and Vista should install the drivers that work. DO NOT use the driver that Windows Update offers ... it'll show up in optional updates .. it's the same one that causes this problem.

Hope that helps, good luck

What's up guys. I'm new here, but i'm trying to get these extra cores unlocked as well. :P

I just attempted to enable Hybrid EC firmware and ACC with the default BIOS that Gigabyte gave me from @BIOS. After saving, I get the message telling me the firmware is updating and not to unplug. The computer restarts a few seconds later, however, as it is spinning back up, it just powers off, and I need to reset my BIOS in order to boot properly.

I also download the F2C BIOS, applied it with @BIOS and got the same result. I couldn't see any difference at all between F2 and F2C other than @BIOS telling me which version I have.

What would prevent me from booting after turning on hybrid firmware?
