I'm using the f2c BIOs and want to open my 550 3rd and 4th cores. When I have the ACC set to Auto and Hybrid. It says on the right hand side under Hybrid " System will take some time for EC firmware replacing" Can anyone tell me approx how long firmware replacing will take? and how do I go about it? I mean, do I set it at Auto and Hybrid and ESC , then hit F10? or is there more to do? I guess I really don't want to mess this up.

Did you try a BIOS update yet? I would first make sure yours is current. and BUMP.

I use a Gigabyte board and it only takes about 10 secs for mine to update and is automatic. That's all some people have had to do to get theirs to unlock.

THANKS UCallmeBob. I just opened my 3rd and 4th cores. This is the 2nd 770-AM3 board, the 1st board died when I tried the Hybrid-Auto update. So I wanted to be sure I was doing it right this time. I guess its luck you get a 550 CPU that the 4 cores can be opened. Vista 64 gives a rating score of 5.9 at ( stock ) 3.1ghz. This system is only 4 days old, so I'll brake it in awhile longer before overclocking.

When I set it to auto, lights out. Remove battery for couple of minutes and back on. Gig 770 am3 motherboard. Set to Hybrid and All Cores Fixed my problem. I'm even using the new F4 Bios update. |
