Hi everyone and thanks for your help yesterday. Back to my original dilemna, I do not know how to overclock. I see that my amd phenom 9600 has software to do it and my bios also has it, and the motherboard original software disk has it too! I am so confused...

BIOS!
Software is pretty much useless... if you screw up using software, it can corrupt your operating system install and make your system unbootable, if you overclock in the BIOS and you screw up, all you have to do is reset CMOS and you're golden. ![]() Overclocking that board shouldn't be too hard, look for a review on it.

Manual setttings is the way to get optimal voltages/speeds etc.
Software has a tendancy to overvolt/overcompensate to ensure boot. BIOS is better edit>overclock report on biostar ta790bxb a2+ http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...d.php?t=304283 Last edited by M1 Abrams : 09-15-09 at 11:29 AM |

Sorry I don't know to much about your setup(cpu, mobo) but,IMO bios is the way to go,look at your motherboard manual to see what's,what & do some research on the net to get the settings that need to be changed.GL

Software has its uses. I use my evga E-LEET software in order to test different settings without having to reboot into windows every time. However as soon as I find a "stabe" setting, I will manually input it into the BIOS and then test for stability again.
BIOS is the best way to go though.
