I have found that with running a 1:2 divider and a cpu multi of 6, I can get my HTT up to 320 or so before it fails. Also, my cpu seems to not enjoy going over 230-232 when at an 11x multiplier. I think that is an issue with not being able to give it enough voltage with my MB. I have yet to find the upper limit of my memory though. So far it has run fine at 1:1 with 230x11 (i.e. DDR 460 i guess). I was just able to pull off a seemingly stable OC at 232x11, but I had to max the voltage at 1.5v and it got up to the high 50's temperature wise. Looks like I am stuck at 2530Mhz until I get a different mobo and/or pull out the soldering iron and get some water cooling ![]() Thanks for your help though! -LC

I've been running into this problem as well with my Asus BIOS, can't find anything that would imply it's a divider unless it's just hte frequencies, I noticed a HUGE drop in memory speed when I had it set to auto but changed it back to DDR400 in the DRAM screen. I have some pretty solid memory but I'm jsut curious to know how far I can push it
I'd show you my CPUID CPU-Z pics but my internet is spotty and I'm on cmapus right now so I can't get to it

Going Broke Overclocking

Lewis...
The LDT voltage (memory controler)... have you upped it any? Gator... Some MBs don't have a divider in the BIOS which is in addition to the common option of setting from the Default 400/200, 333/166, 266/133 and 122/200.

Yep I have. The bios only gives the option of 1.2v and 1.25v. Hasn't really seemed to effect much when I test for stability. Gator, as The Duke said there is no outright 'divider' setting in that bios. You can drop the 'memclock frequency' setting to apply a divider on the memory vs. the cpu value. If you keep it at the 400 setting (DDR400) then you will notice that as you increase the HTT, the memory speed will also increase 1:1. Just run CPU-Z in Windows and you should see that if you set it to 400, and your HTT to 230 lets say.. then your memory speed should also be at 230. If you decrease the memory speed, then it will keep it proportionally lower than the HTT speed. Best thing to do is just make some changes and then run CPU-z and look at the CPU and MEMORY tabs and see how they change. I was confused on this too but was able to get ahold of it (i think) by doing this.

as the Asus site says make shure you have the chipset BIOS over v 6.2 (I think) before you flash. Thats a simple task of loading the latest platform drivers from the Nvidia site. That reversion to auto settings thing should be gone by now it was making me crazy last spring around revision 1005'ish.
__________________In general our mobos dont seem to like excessive FSB speeds Ive got my HTT at 2 and am OK at 309 x 9 but have only put it through a few 3DMk6 and aquamark rounds I need to download some serious OC torture tests and run them super pi etc

Ive got the Deluxe you've got the Premium and we're on diff BIOS revisions. The good news is that your board (and later revisions of mine for that matter) are better OC's than my early one. I dont have a cure for youre prob but it IS a PIA! I just left the RAM on auto and worked with the FSB and multiplier when I had your problem Thats about all you can do. Sorry dude

LoL To test for the max bandwith on your ram. You want to keep the ram at ddr 400 which is a 1:1 divider. Put a small multi on the CPU like 5x or 6x. And raise the HT until it fails. Then back down a bit and memtest. If it fails back down some more, mem test. Repeat until memtest doenst give errors. I have this board. Any questions? Ask me if you dont get any response here. I recomend tho that you read and reread the guides avaiable on overclocking before you go any further tho.
