At this moment I am trying to overclock my friends computer which I built. It has a DFI - NF4 and a amd 3000. He also has some G skill ram with 2-3-3-6 timings at ddr400. Whenever we boot up (even at stock settings) it says booting from Backup CMOS.. so 1. What is that? I tried to overclock, so i pushed the fsb first to 10 and the voltage up to 1.45 start and 1.445 continuous. Whenever we start up with this the VERIFYING POOL DATA and BACKUP CMOS doesn't come up and the computer just restarts... whats wrong here or am I forgeting to do something. The HT multi thingy is on auto so could that be it?

You need to drop the HT Multi so that the overall HTT is less than 1000.
I'd put a temporary divider in there and work on CPU speed first.
The backup CMOS saves your current BIOS settings. If you want to remove this, go into CMOS Reloaded in the bios and disable this. Can be useful though in case you need to clear CMOS as your settings are automatically saved.

wait so the htt multi is the ldt/fsb thingy right? and what it multiply's by is the fsb.. right?

ok... i made the fsb 210 with a x4 ht multi , x9 cpu multi (amd 3000), the cpu is getting 1.45 voltage, and the temps are great. BUT the system REFUSES to start up. IT WON"T SAY "VERYIFYING POOL DATA" OR LOADING CMOS OR ANYTHING.. i'm so confused. the voltage for the ram is fine and also how do i run a ram divider? Can someone please help me on HOW to overclock this thing as it is obviously my first time with a DFI board.

just dont oc it. my board doesnt oc anymore after 2 days of OCing. so i run it stock fine
