Any way to get a new bios for a K8T890-A?
I have an ECS K8T890-A motherboard (VIA chipset) and the options suck. Is there any way to get a better bios or unlock this one or anything?

The VIA boards aren't really known for it's OCing potential. Just try to do the best you can from what you have in your BIOS. Otherwise, you might want to consider upgrading motherboards with something more OC friendly. The chipset has to be designed with the functions of voltage control, fsb, multiplier, etc. Since the VIA chipsets aren't really designed with those adjustments, a BIOS upgrade won't help.

In the bios, there is an option to change the multiplier, but it doesn't change even though it's not greyed out or anything.

Check to see if there is an option for performance. Sometimes there is an option of auto speeds, optimal, expert, or user define (something along those lines). You have to have user define or expert checked off before you can start messing with those parameters. So poke around in the BIOS for that. Should be in the same page as where you found the multiplier setting. Let us know if that works.

Didn't see anything remotely like that. There was memory speed, voltage, and fsb multiplier (other than enable/disable user overclocking functions, which was enabled to get to the options listed above).
