The case is noisy and difficult to work with. It cost me around $40 with a 350w PSU. You get what you pay for I guess. Although I use the PSU for testing fans and LED arrays so at least something from it was useful. Plus I couldn't count the number of times i've cut myself off the sharp edges inside it. The only other plus point is that the aluminium is so thin that my dremel cut through it like butter, although this also lends itself to being one of the loudest cases i've ever used, the vibration noise caused by the HDD's alone is ridiculous. I'll be glad to see it go

Now back to setting up the PC. I'll install the VGA cooler first. Pics coming.

You can actually pay a company called Performance PC to make a window for your P180. It looks quite professional, but will set you back a cool 75 bucks. Still, for all the gear you got, it might be worth to show it off.

I go lanning about twice a year, and plan on watercooling my P180 with a Swiftech radbox and dual radiator. I heard this case is already heavy, but from the looks of your log and everything, it seems totally worth it for two times a year.

To me unless i'm going water cooled, putting a window in would negate the whole point of the door on the P180. Its purpose is to dampen the noise generated by fans. If my system was watercooled I wouldn't have to worry about this... although if I was going watercooled I wouldn't use the P180

Also this case is VERY heavy, i'd say heavier than my old system with all the HW in it. Its going to be a brick once I move the computer into it. I would say NOT at all suitable for LANing, unless you have a van to take you there

Some people complain the P180 doesn't have HDD light, but it actually does. You look on the right side of the front door - it lights up on the side when accessing the HDD, subtle but effective. Heh. Didn't realize this myself at first.

How's the sound?

Is it a quiet case? Because my Lian-Li PC-7B isn't cutting it in the sound department.

Does anyone have an answer to the question I asked earlier: Would it be better to add 2 fans to the upper cage or just add one fan and remove the upper cage all together?

As for sound, i'm still in the process of moving my computer into it. I'm planning on lapping the Tuniq Tower I got for it and my Opty 165 before I install it. So it won't be finished until I get that done. I'll post more pictures soon. I'll be lapping the TT120 tomorrow.

But afaik, it is the best case out there atm for silencing fans and HDD noise. I mean it better be, its heavy enough. I doubt a richter 9 could make it vibrate. Plus the side door is HEAVY, at least compared to my old case.

My only gripe thus far is that the front door feels a little flimsy, and that the slightest amount of weight applied to it would break the hinge. Also it doesn't stay opened 270", you CAN open it all the way around so that it touchs the side panel, but it doesn't stay there, it settles at around 235"

I think removing it alltogether and have a single powerful 120mm fan is a better solution. I didn't try a dual fan setup like you suggested.... so I am not sure

Now I think about it, your video card will love the dual fan set up, since it'll get a direct blow from that fan mounted on the hard drive cage....

That was my thinking, it would also create more negative pressure, pulling in air from the side vents on the front door. I'll probably try both then post results. I'll be losing a side fan from my current setup so i'll want to keep air flowing over the vga as i'll also be voltmodding it with the new zalman cooler
