Well that's nice to hear. I also have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe--but I chose the DFI because I wanted to see if it was "all that" at OCing. I am a die Hard Asus FanBoy so this rig has got to really perform or I will be back on the Asus bandwagon...LOL

So I guess the X1950pro is not too shabby.

Just now starting to OC the beast. Will post results.

Is it possible to run Crossfire on this board? I am a real n00b at this gaming rig stuff...the card I bought at Best Buy says Crossfire Edition--but I don't think it is a master card.

4889 3DMark06 Score using Witchfire's settings and ATI Tray Tools to bump the core to 627. The RAM on the ATI X1950pro 256 does not OC at all. Even the slightest bumpt to bring it from underclock to it's spec of 688 results in immediate lack of output.

ATI Tool does not support the 1950pro at all--I tried it anyway LOL--nothing there.

At 633 the ATI freezes while using the tray tool bench so I feel 627 is about all I can get without probs.

Not really an overclockers card to say the least...

However the modest bump from 578 stock to 627 did yield an increase of 148 3DMark06 points. The OC of the CPU yielded a decrease of 2 points (I ran it with the card stock and CPU OCed too LOL).

My next tweak will be to yank the 2 x 512 G Skill DDR 500 and slap in some OCZ 2 x 1GB Premium DDR400 and see if increased RAM size might make a better bench.

Not sure how well the X2 is enjoying anything above 2500 however--I tried a quick boot at 2570 with a 1.55 Vcore but it froze up in Windows after a few moments. I also had the RAM jacked up--so I'll have to slow down to speed up and work it methodically as usual...no magic formulas yet.

Well I cannot get the OCZ RAM to act right--it booted super fast but then froze up. I tried 2T and slower speed and more voltage--nothing worked. I am hoping I did not buy some loser RAM here...that would be pretty shabby.

On the other hand the DDR555 G Skill TCCD is running at DDR 624 :eek (312) at 3 4 4 8 1T.Now that's what I have always wanted my RAM to do! That IMO is simply the best OCing RAM I have ever experienced. Wow. Yep. Liking the G Skill a lot.

But I can tell that this rig really wants 2 GB to sing. When I slapped the OCZ 2 GB in there Windows loaded in 9 seconds! I am timing the load from the instant the XP screen appears to the instant the desktop appears. 9 Seconds is really fast compared to all my other builds. However that OCX just was not running right. The G skill loads to desktop in 11 seconds. I also noted that (until it froze) the OCZ was making everything a lot faster--web pages--everything. But the G skill can stand the stratosphere. So I gues I will have to hunt up some more G Skill DDR555 LE for Velocitor.

Getting PC Mark05 DLed now and will post results.

Sadly I was unable to get a 3DMark06 bench out of the OCZ sticks--even after numerous tweaks and reboots it would always freeze up.

But I am satisfied that the G Skill really is "all that" and then some!

Do you know if I can run Crossfire on the DFI mobo?

My HD tach report is dismal--90MB/sec WTH? My RAID array is benching lower than a single SATA drive....

Not sure about Crossfire in an SLI board.... I am still waiting for the @#$#^$# DFI RD600 board.... it just does not want to show up (ok, right now I am also waiting for a new DFI Infinity 975X/G, since I clunked an BIOS flash.... Newegg accepted the RMA though...

I am running them in RAID10 on the Silicon Image controller. I could not for the life of me get XP to see the NV RAID array or ask for drivers despite the F6 routine.

IMO the Nvidia chipsets suck. The NV RAID controllers are a PITA and the overall performance (bandwidth on the PCI bus) is not "all that" compared to the Intel and even the Via chipsets. Not really a big Nvidia fan. I have heard the "less expensive" Dominator RAM is tailored for the 680 chipset though--and according to the reviewers is absolutely amazing paired together...

I have heard Crossfire works on just baout everything unlike SLI, but I dunno having no personal experience with it.

I am really likeing this new Eclipse2 keyboard--the red backlight is making night typing a real joy LOL....

Guess I won't be going in to work tomorrow...
