By the way the CPU game out of a PC with a 250W PSU, I have a 400W. I don't think that the CPU connector is the problem unless its faulty.

Yes.

Hm, any other ideas...

Swap out the graphics card to check if it's that causing the problem... (Remove, then check to see if it POSTs).

Um... have you tried running only 1 dimm at a time? To check to see if it's a mem problem.

And, err, if all else fails RMA your mobo.

It is possible you might have a grounding issue. I would take everything out and start from scratch. A good way to determine if it is a grounding issue is keep your components out of your case, put the motherboard on some anti-static material. If it boots up fine in that manner then you have a grounding issue with your case.

If you CMOS battery were dead, your power supply would still work and all of you fans, but everything else controlled by your motherboard and the bios that the CMOS supplies its power to would not function.

Well can I sit it on the wrap the MB came in? Also the only thing I can do is turn the system on and off, I can't even open the DVD drive when I press the button.

All you did was swap the CPU or was this a new build or rig?

Btw I think the problem is with the compatibility of your older and newer parts...
